Deputies arrest man after more than $250,000 in drugs, stolen property found


CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) — A man has been arrested and charged after sheriff’s deputies say they found more than $250,000 in drugs and stolen property.

Wayne Cook Jr., 31, is charged with receiving and transferring stolen property, possession with intent to deliver and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Deputies tell WSAZ the arrest happened in the Highlawn area of Huntington.



According to deputies, about 2,000 grams of heroin and more than 2 pounds of marijuana was found.

Deputies also tell WSAZ about $50,000 in stolen property was found including multiple guns.

According to deputies, a vehicle was also seized and more than $3,000 dollars was found inside.

Cook Jr. was placed in Western Regional Jail and is being held on $140,000 cash only bond.
