Explain who you are for those who may not know
I’m Redbesnappin from Niagara Falls NY currently living in Durham NC.
How did you come up with your name
In prison I never wanted people to know my name so I’ll always tell them to call me Red. And 9 years ago, my first time spitting on the “yard”, this really loud dude from Miami yelled out “DAMM REDBESNAPPIN”. I loved it.

Whats it like growing up where your from?
It was Bitter Sweet.
How did you get into music?
My sister use to listen to LL Cool J, get all hyped up’d and just walk up to me and crush my mic that I ain’t even have yet… lmao. So eventually I would run up on her like ” I got a bat/ i seen a rat / I hate your cat”….that’s all. By time I was 13 years old I loved anything to do with music.
What makes you different than other artists
-I’m an example of a person who once had the odds against him, now I’m here doing an interview. That alone makes me different. I’m a walking motivator. Not many men do a 8 1/2 year bid, get out and do what I’ve done in only 10 months out. The work I put in, the experience, the performances are fire (Motivation)
What are you currently working on?
My first video “Add It Up” was just released two weeks ago on YouTube. I’m hosting and performing shows with k97.5 fm (Raleigh,NC), I’m shooting the video for my new single “Confidence” soon, and I’m planning a promo tour across the South.
