Seymour talks being a college student, single “She Know It” & more

Seymour is a new artist to the game. Only making music for 8 months, you couldn’t tell by his sound. Focused on building his brand, we linked with him for a cool Q&A. Read it below:

Explain who you are for those who may not know
My name is Connor Moore, stage name Seymour. I’m a 21 year old college student that just has fun making music.

Where you from?
I’m originally from Augusta, GA. However, I now live in the Atlanta area for school, more specifically Kennesaw, GA. I go to Kennesaw State University and I am in my junior year here.

How did you get your start in music?
I got my start really just by recognizing my passion. I’ve always loved music and it’s moved me in many ways. Whether you are feeling up or feeling down music always has your back and that’s mad special.

How long have you been making it?
I’ve been making music for the past 8 months or so. It’s not a very long time, but I’ve wanted to do it for a long time, just never had the tools to create. When I met my very talented producer and one of my best friends, Kennedi Stephens, I really opened myself up and started putting music out there, and it’s been awesome. I love the feeling of being in the studio and getting dumb hype on tracks.

Who are your influences?
My influences are kind of scattered, I just love so many different artists. But the ones that stand out to me the most are Young Thug and Future. I’m not saying I sound anything like these guys but when it comes to the style of music I like and feel most comfortable with in the studio, their sing-song style of rapping and the powerful attitude they have on the track have influenced me a ton. I also really love Chance the Rapper’s positive attitude.

What motivates you?
My biggest motivators are my friends and family that enjoy listening to my music. I would say another motivation for me is people who doubt me, because I’d just love to see the look on their faces when I prove them wrong.

What are you currently working on?
Right now I’m currently working on promoting my newest song that I actually made with one of my very good friends from my hometown. It’s called “She Know It” and Polly Blanco is on the first verse and I’m on the second. I’ve known Polly for about 5 years now and I’m really excited we got to work together and I think we created something dope.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years I see myself still making music for my fans. If I blow up by then, who knows. But even if I don’t, I’ll still be pushing out music just because it’s what I love doing.

What is your opinion on the current hiphop scene?
I dont know if my opinion on the current hip-hop scene is a popular one, but in my opinion I believe that like everything else, music is always evolving. I say let it take its natural course. However, I would love to see way less glorification of drugs and xans and shit. Weed is cool and all but all that other shit is dangerous.

Anything else you would like to say?
The last few things I’d like to say is thank you Hip Hop’s Revival for this opportunity. Looking forward to working with you all in the future. Also if you are reading this, follow my pages:
