When it comes to working together… one celebrity couple that never shies away from the opportunity is Beyoncé and Jay-Z

Over the years, the power couple has graced us with the classics. Including the iconic “03 Bonnie & Clyde”, “Crazy In Love”, “Drunk In Love”, and On The Run Tours. Along with their chart-topping joint album, Everything is Love. Fast forward and now they’ve added another project to their collective resume, this time in the form of a Tiffany & Co. campaign.

Tiffany & Co. has always been one of the most prominent names in the jewelry industry. Now they’ve tapped Jay and Bey to launch their next campaign as the faces of the brand. Dubbed “About Love,” the new jewelry collection celebrates “the most iconic love story of all time…”. It marks the first time the two appear in a campaign together. 

It appears for the first time there is a third star in the spotlight…

Besides, the Carters can’t be outshined. But a never-before-seen artwork by Jean-Michel Basquiat is spotted. In fact, it’s in the Tiffany’s iconic robin egg blue. Now controlled by LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, Tiffany is putting major firepower behind the yearlong campaign featuring the Carters, which includes a short film that depicts Beyoncé singing “Moon River” to her husband.

Hand-picked for the “About Love” campaign, the Carters are now the global ambassadors. According to the brand the project launched globally on September 2nd, 2021. With Beyonce and Jay-Z chosen as the “epitome of a modern love story”. Alexandre Arnault, executive vice president of product and communications at the jeweler mentions:

“Beyoncé and Jay-Z are the epitome of the modern love story. As a brand that has always stood for love, strength and self-expression, we could not think of a more iconic couple that better represents Tiffany’s values…”

The couple’s first campaign features Bey and JAY-Z alongside the rare sighting of the painting Equals Pi by artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. Constantly pushing the culture forward, Jay and Bey team up for their latest couple collab. Looking dapper in a black and white tuxedo, Hov pairs the suit with cufflinks made from Tiffany’s “Bird on a Rock” brooch. Renowned French designer Jean Schlumberger created the jewelry in 1956.

The Ivy Park founder and Lemonade performer is featured in a still from the ad. Wearing a figure-hugging black dress with long, sheer opera gloves. The jewel around her neck takes center stage as her hair is swept up gracefully back in an updo. 

As seen worn by Beyoncé, the 1878 South African yellow diamond, is at the center of the ad. At any rate, this piece is priceless. To date, it is one of the world’s largest yellow diamonds, weighing in at 128.54 carats. For the first time the famous Tiffany Diamond is featured. With its 128.54 carats and 82 facets. To no surprise, breaking barriers as per usual; Beyoncé also becomes the first African American woman to ever wear the priceless gemstone, let alone for a campaign. 

Previously, only three other women have had the opportunity to flaunt this exquisite piece of jewelry. In 1961 by socialite Mary Whitehouse then Audrey Hepburn in 1961 while promoting her film Breakfast At Tiffany’s. Meanwhile, the most recent celebrity to rock this Diamond was Lady Gaga at the 2019 Oscars.

Additionally, Beyoncé unveiled the collaboration in her Harper’s Bazaar cover story. Where she wore her own IVY PARK label alongside a variety of Tiffany & Co. jewelry pieces. This new partnership comes as great news to some and a joke to others… Either way, the renowned duo has a strong presence in a variety of industries, including music, fashion, and, most recently, cannabis. Through Hova’s company Monogram. In fact, after discovering “healing properties” in CBD during the COVID-19 pandemic, Bey revealed that she’s been working on establishing a hemp and honey farm.

Lastly, featuring the Carters for the campaign serves to further renovate Tiffany’s image. However, the couple will front campaigns for the label. Alongside a list of impressive ambassadors that includes: K-pop group BLACKPINK’s Rosé, Anya Taylor Joy from The Queen’s Gambit, and multi-hyphenate Tracee Ellis Ross.
