Unsigned Hype: Aye Be You

Tonight we bring you a new artist from Chicago named Aye Be You

Chicago artist Aye Be You exemplifies the culture of Hip Hop. Even before writing his own music, his passion for the culture was apparent as he was considered one of the city’s best break dancers and an affiliate of the legendary B. Boy crew, BRICKHEADZ. Before his full potential as a breaker was realized, Aye Be You fell victim to Chicago’s sometimes violent streets when he was mistaken for a rival gang member and shot in the back. Though Doctors told him he would never walk again he refused accept that prognosis and took his first steps, with the use of crutches, only two years later.

Its that determination and resilience that lead Aye Be You to the mic. The gun shot that limited his mobility would not silence his voice. After an acquaintance offered him the chance to record a few songs he found his calling and has since recorded hundreds. Unafraid to speak his mind or to take risks Aye Be You’s music is appealing to fans of both mainstream and underground Hip Hop. At a time when there is a premium placed on trends and facade, Aye Be You remains authentic to the culture and experiences that have shaped him.
