Explain who you are for those who don’t know
For those who dont know yet the names Glory. I’m an entertainer that specializes in rap/ songwriting. I’m the creator and ceo of Doufside, a dallas-based company designed to produce the most entertaining content to the world.

Where are you from?
Dallas, Texas. Mainly the north side.

Whats it like growing up where your from?
The north side is intricate. Theres always the good & the bad but for the most part the north side of Dallas is a nice place to live. Everything’s pretty close together, all the people are unique and artsy which is just coming to the forefront but Dallas has always been very artistic and original. We moved around a lot growing up because of my moms job so I lived all over Dallas, but the north is where I consider home.

How did you get into music?
Music was always in the household growing up, my dad used to dj at a club in downtown Dallas called the lizard lounge so he was always making mixes in our living room. That’s when I first started to freestyle rap and then growing up I would write raps and freestyle with the homies in rap circles and shit.

What is it that you do?
Produce entertainment for the world to hear and see.

What are your goals?
To make jamz, sell records, and push my brand internationally.

What are you currently working on?
Music, mainly. I got projects and collaborations on the way. Just keep a lookout for doufside!

How do you feel about the current state of HipHop?
Indifferent. I just like the sounds. Right now alot of weird shit is getting praise and I dont know how to feel about it so i’m just staying focused on my own work.

Anything you would like to say?
RIP to my boy brunshea Johnson aka Chief, he was one of the first people to get me into music. We were best friends growing up and all our homeboys and us used to rap battle on the court in between games, he was murdered this year on my birthday. He deserves the shoutout.

Where are you from?
I was born in Anchorage Alaska lived here up until age 11 then I moved to Federal away Washington to live with my mom and I’ve been living in Washington ever since..

What was it like growing up there?
It was the common struggle nothing crazy over all it was very calm and safe I enjoyed it.

Where are you from?
We all hail from Flatbush, Brooklyn, NY, one of the biggest melting pots on the east coast.

Whats it like growing up where your from?
You could say Flatbush is the heart of Brooklyn and, being so, it has its ups and downs. It can provide you the greatest experiences as well as the ones you’d want to forget. Being apart of a largely diverse community allowed us (22Love) to obtain knowledge from many different lifestyles and cultures. Our neighborhood can provide you with the tools but it’s on you how you use it and using our pasts as well as our observations growing up to help us shy away from the negativity that normally engulfs the place we call home.

How did you get into music?
Well, speaking for our music artists, each member has a story about how they developed their own individual passion for music. Music was what brought us all together it’s a interest all the members of 22Love share and from there, the music took off.

What is it that you do?
22Love is way more than it may seem at first glance. We are a collective of creative individuals who use our outlets to promote balance, equality, and self-love as well as how important loving & support is to the world. With music, clothing, and events we continue to try and spread our message to the world.

What are your goals?
We have many, but our main goal is to bring the real back into Hip Hop. Bring back more videos with storyline and concept. Bring back the raw emotion and genuine expression. Make the music more than just music again, make it art & a show of creativity.

What are you currently working on?
After dropping our debut tape, Sorry It’s This W4Y, We want to remain consistent we’re lining up more videos and music for the people.

How do you feel about the current state of HipHop?
We believe music is fluid it isn’t one thing and changes all the Time and At this point, Hip Hop is up for grabs with the different styles that flow in and out of popularity, and WE WANT IT!

Anything you would like to say?
Keep up with us on www.22Love.nyc and Get our tape On sorryitsthisway.com, thanks to hip hop revivals, shoutout to everybody in the production of the tape, and all our fans who waited so patiently for this and us.

Kay Special – KG (Special Mix)

Up and coming artist Kay Special drops the visuals for his street anthem, KG (Special Mix).  The video is directed by Skippy Brown and shot in the rapper’s neighborhood of Mississauga, otherwise known as Sauga City.  Alongside his crew, he demonstrates his athletic skills on the ball court and his love for his home team sporting a Toronto Raptors Jersey.  The video and track are instantly appealing and memorable, with the cinematic style footage and hard hitting lyrics that correlate with the beat.  Kay Special is definitely on the come up and one to watch. Look out for his mixtape coming out this winter.

Anything you would like to say?
This last year and a half has been really hard for me. I am going through a child custody case for my son. My son and I went from seeing each other every weekend for 10 years, to not seeing each other for a year and a half over a song (Rip Fire) and I have “joint legal custody”. Yeshua and my music are the reason I am still standing.

Indy Spotlight: New Track City

for-fb

Explain who you are for those who don’t know/Where are you from?

What’s up y’all we by the name of New Track City. We’re a Hip Hop/Jazz group from Federal Way, WA. We’re formed of 2 rappers (Bem and Chi.Stone) and a producer (Dru on Beats).  We’re just into making overall dope music and giving out dope vibes.

Where are you from?

We’re from Federal Way, WA. It’s a city about 25 minutes south of Seattle. It’s actually right inbetween Tacoma and Seattle.

Whats it like growing up where your from?

Growing up in Federal Way was dope. It was cool because we kind of got both sides of everything as far as musical influence. We got that authentic 90’s Hip Hop vibe but since Seattle is know for it’s underground rock scene we got a lot of that too. Jazz is also heavy around our way so we were definitely influenced by that a lot.

How did you get into music?

We got into music seriously in High school. It first started with us just meeting up and recording at the homie’s home studio (AKA a microphone in a closet) and from that it just expanded into something big. We all had a huge passion for music before getting together.

What is it that you do?

Man we’re just try and provide the world with the most dope authentic vibes through our music. We feel like that’s our job as artists. We’re here to inspire and innovate.

What are your goals?

Our goals with music is just to change lives and make the dopest sh*t while doing it.

What are you currently working on?

Right now we just released our EP, “Lose Sight of the Shore”. We’re just working on getting that into the atmosphere as much as we can. We’re also doing a mini college/city tour, so catch us in a city near you soon!

How do you feel about the current state of HipHop?

Hip Hop currently is on the up and up. It’s starting to get more balanced out. At one point it was more one way then the other but now it’s kind of coming full circle. We’re excited to see what’s next.

Anything you would like to say?

Much love to everyone who has been rocking with us and been supporting us. Y’all inspire us to keep doing what we do and for that we’re thankful. Our EP “Lose Sight of the Shore” is out now! Be sure to go check that out!
