Get to know: Trapgurl Rea

trap

Explain who you are for those who don’t know

I’m a 22 year old, hot female rapper by the name of Trapgurl Rea. Born and raised on the Southside of Chicago, I’m now taking over Pittsburgh, Pa . I’m inspired by street music and HipHop/ Rap but I’m versatile with my lyrics and I can rap about anything . I been rapping for about 7 years , but I took a break from it , now aint no stopping me.

How did you come up with your name?
Me and my twin loved Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka’s music. We was rocking with the whole 1017 BrickSquad movement. They always said something about Trap Girls in their music, and with the lifestyle we was living, we related to every song.

Where are you from?
I’m from the southside of Chicago, IL. The Englewood area, where people don’t even live to see 21, so I’m blessed.

Whats it like growing up where your from?
When I was growing up it was fun, we could chill on the block, or go to parties without worrying about if it’ll get shot up or not. But as I got older, it started getting somewhat crazy, I remember being 14-15 yrs old , on the block with the guys, carrying around guns , not cause we wanted to but cause we had to, it’s all about survival in Chicago. It definitely wasn’t as crazy as it is now though, now all you hear about is kids getting killed , it’s sad. My city the most beautiful city I ever seen though, the food good, and Chicago got so much talent in it.

How did you get into music?
Every time I heard a song I liked, I remixed it and did my own lil version of it, after a while I started writing my own songs, I haven’t stopped ever since.

What makes you different than other artists?
I’m young but I got an old soul, I don’t follow trends, I do my own thing. Most artists rap about anything, I like rapping about stuff I actually seen or go through. The same person you seen in my videos or on social media is the same person you’ll meet in person. Plus I wanna help build the Confidence of women with my music.

What are you currently working on?
I recently dropped my EP “Still Trap’n #FreeDoughEdition”
on Soundcloud, My Mixtapes , and ReverbNation. I’m working on the videos for that EP, and I’m working on my original mixtape right now too. Make sure u check it out

Get to know: Mic Miles

“Mic Miles, a young budding artist from Cleveland Ohio got his start in music back in 2010, recording for fun with a group of friends. Raised by a single mother for half of his life, Miles had to resort to some creative measures to make friends. “I went to 5 different elementary schools before moving to the suburbs in 6th grade. I was always the new kid so I use to rap popular songs on the bus to make friends” says Miles.”

mic

Explain who you are for those who don’t know
My name is Mic Miles, a hip-hop recording artist from Cleveland Ohio

How did you come up with your name?
Its my real name, I used to go by lil ice but I felt like I couldn’t go by any other name with the way that I rap. its real rap so I use my real name

Where are you from?
Originally from Cleveland Ohio moved all around the city til I was about 10 then moved to the suburbs I currently reside in Eastlake Oh beter known as “The Grease”

Whats it like growing up where youre from?
Growing up in Cleveland was hard because it’s just a tough city to be from. There’s a lot of poverty and violence around every corner but I feel like the suburbs were just as hard. Its more mental then physical violence in the burbs. In Cleveland you have might have to worry about getting shot but in the suburbs you have to worry about being a suspect just because of the way you look or just being accepted in general is hard.

How did you get into music?
My brother use to rap and he was dope so I was like man I could do that lol I really just wanted to be like him but I’ve also always had a love for music and great sounds

What makes you different than other artists?
I feel like Im different from other artists because Im actually rapping. The standard of music has gone down in my eyes nowadays all you need is a hot beat and some adlibs to be considered a good artist. No one really says anything in their music anymore so im trying to bring back real rap and real bars.

What are you currently working on?
Im currently working on a new project titled “Happy Hour” im not 100% sure if it will be another mixtape or an Ep but I do know it will be all bars hence the name “Happy Hour”.

Anything you would like to say?
My new project Happy Hour should be released by late Summer. Check out my latest mixtape “The Other Side” on spinrilla and mymixtapez. My lead single Validation from that mixtape is available on Itunes as well. My advice for any upcoming artist is to remember that this is a business at the end of the day so be about business first and foremost.
