Explain who you are for those who don’t know

I am an artist, I learn new ways to create everyday. I don’t want to be known as a rapper, producer, any of that. I am just a kid from a small town that won’t give up on his dreams.

How did you come up with your name?

Well goon just came to mind one day, my freshman year of highschool. I thought about the fact that there had to be other rappers going by the name goon so I needed something that would make it standout but I wanted to stray from the lil/yung trend. Goon for me means an eccentric, goofy person. Premature represents the fact that I started at a young age.

Where are you from?

Kerrville Tx, it’s about 65 miles outside of San Antonio.

Whats it like growing up where your from?

It can be really tough, for me I always stood out amongst my class mates so I never had very many good friends growing up. It’s a small town with nothing but a very small mall and a movie theatre. I would skate from my house to our skatepark to skate all day then I would make music all night.

How did you get into music?

My parents had a heavy influence on my music taste, I didn’t get to spend my whole childhood with them but in the years I was with them they introduced me to so much music. One of my first vivid memories is from when I was about 4-5 and I was sitting in my dads car listening to “do what you want” by Bad Religion. My mom gave me a tape player at a young age as well and I had a tape by the cure and the beastie boys “license to ill” which got me into hip hop. I’ve seen Wu tang clan, snoop dog, ice-t, and deltron 3030 live which really inspired me to start getting serious about my music, I want to create something that will last not just blow up and fade away with the trends.

What makes you different than other artists?

Well, one of the reasons I started rapping was because I made a beat for someone and they said they couldn’t rap over it. So I did. I liked it so I kept up with it and now I’m producing my own tracks, recording them, making my own artwork, plus shooting and editing my own music videos. I like to sample older songs that I like for example I sampled hurt by nine inch nails, lonely day by system of a down, and I have a track produced by gang$ta loc that samples black hole sun by sound garden.

What are you currently working on?

I am currently working on my second album, all production is done by me. It’s gonna be 10 tracks like the last but this album will be the one that really sets me apart from other artists. I’m always working on something whether it be beats, artwork, visuals, or clothing.

Anything you would like to say?

Shouts outs the homie Rayayy for being the realest I’ve worked with, shouts outs Carlo$ Hertz (we got some stuff on the way) , and shouts outs to everyone that believes in me I’m glad people are starting to wake up.
