Explain who you are for those who may not know?
My name is Arkay I’m a female musician from Paterson, New Jersey but I’m located in Providence, Rhode Island.
How did you get into music?
I got into music the day I bought The Game’s album The Documentary. That album drove me into the direction of Hip-Hop. I was inspired by how he flowed, by how he wrote his lyrics and how much he expressed himself in his music. Right after I bought that album later on down the road I bought T.I’s album Urban Legend. That album inspired me to pick up a pen and gather some paper and write some lyrics.
How do you get your motivated?
I get motivated by a lot of things but the most is Good Vibes. It’s weird, I know, but when I hear people complement me on my talent for making music or just sending positive good vibes my way I get very motivated. Another thing that motivates me is Music & my fans.
Who influences you?
My influences are Drake and Logic. Those two alone are really the only rappers I listen to on the daily, so when I listen to their music, I just get so much inspiration built up in me because they’re beyond talented.
What are you working on?
Currently, I’m working on my third mixtape. I’m trying to make this one a lot different than my last two mixtapes. This is the mixtape where I want it to elevate my career, I also want this mixtape to be a test to myself. I wanna deliver different flows, different lyrics, just overall different vibes as well. This mixtape, I want it to be better than my last two combined.
What is your opinion on today’s HipHop?
Oh, man, my opinion on Hip-Hop it changes all the time. I would say that it kind of drifted into a direction I don’t approve. Hip-Hop is changing so much to the point where I don’t even recognize it. Don’t get me wrong, theirs many other musicians out there that are keeping it grounded, but we need more musicians to elevate it either back to where it was amazing, or past that. I don’t mean to sound cocky, but, I’m gonna be one of those musicians that elevates it.
Anything else you would like to say?
Every single time you listen to my music I will appreciate it, doesn’t matter how many times, I will always appreciate it. Either it be a very old project from me, or a new one. I’m very thankful for you to even become a fan of mines. I’m not only making music for myself, but I’m also making it for you. Thank you for every time you’ve listened to me, I will forever keep pushing myself to create even better music for you, because every time I felt like I was alone, all I have to do is think of my fans and it assures me that I’m never alone. My fans are the greatest! and I’ll always make sure that they know that.

Based out of Atlanta, Bando Booker delivers a visual for his single “Sprung My Wrist.” On this track, Bando Booker is inspired by the mean streets of ATL. Growing up impoverished, Bando was forced to make a way. His dope peddling tales are real-life recounts delivered over a buoyant production courtesy of JF Beats. The visual is shot and edited by Bando himself, showing that the rapper is multifaceted in the creative realm.
