Bax is a new artist coming out of the Dallas area with a lot of motivation and promise. Motivated by haters, nothing will stop him from reaching his goals. He has a positive message coming for the youth. DONT DO DRUGS. In the last 5 months he was arrested twice. Now he’s on to a better message and standing up against rappers who promote drug usage. He doesn’t want the youth to grow up and make bad decisions. Get to know more about him below:
Explain who you are for those who may not know
my name’s bax, im an 18 year old dude from dallas.
How did you get your start in music?
I got my start in music by people telling me I should consider recording. once I was about 15-16 I got a MacBook and all the equipment and just started messing around. I had always had a voice for singing my whole life. once I started smoking back in my freshman year me and my homies would always mess around and freestyle and I was always pretty good at that. so I started incorporating rap with my vocals and it’s led me here!
How long have you been making it?
been making music for about 3 years now
Who are your influences?
my influences in the music industry are The Weeknd, Micheal Jackson, Future, Weezy, and also a little bit of Roy Woods.
What motivates you?
the thing that motivates me the most are the people that hate on me. in dallas, it’s a fish eat fish world, most people making music are focused on just their selves. plus I have so many people that just diss on me for my music, but I never really let that get to me. I just use that as motivation to get out of here.
What are you currently working on?
I’m currently working on an ep. going to be a variety of sounds and I think that’s what separates me from others, I don’t stick myself to just one genre.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
in 5 years, I see myself doing the same thing, making better music and successful doing it. if this music doesn’t work out I either want to pursue a career in audio engineering or business
What is your opinion on the current hiphop scene?
my opinions on the rap scene nowadays: its very different, very. the audience is much more excepting to different styles and flows. there’s a lot of artists I question on how they blew up cause some are just straight up shit to me, but hey it’s what the people like and that’s what’s going to make you money. so I got respect.
Anything else you would like to say?
& one last thing, I’m not on that drug shit like I used to be if anyone thinks that. I actually got arrested twice in the past 5 months and caught 3 charges so I’m having to lay low on all that. but yeah don’t do drugs kids or you’ll end up like me haha.

Check out the full Q&A below.. and be sure to stream his music!!
Where you from?
I’m from Santa Fe, New Mexico.
How did you get your start in music?
A friend of mine had a home studio so we would record some remixes for fun. I would release the remixes via SoundCloud. From there I started the WeAreUptown movement and have been creating music ever since.
How long have you been making it?
2011 was when I started. It wasn’t till 2014 I started producing music of my own.
Who are your influences?
One of my influences growing up was 50 Cent. He really motivated my hustle. Diddy is another big influencers of mine. He’s influenced me to create more opportunities from my music. He a true entrepreneur. My favorite artist right now that I look up to is Drake. He influences me the most as far as my music.
What motivates you?
My Uptown fam. They really push me to do my best. Whether that be with my music or as a person. I don’t want to let them down.
What are you currently working on?
Right now I’m working on two projects. One of my own and another with my bro DeDay. Both releasing this year. I’m really excited for the people to hear what I’ve been working on. It’s definitely some of my best work.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
There a lot of options and opportunities that I have on the table. So it’s hard to say, but I definitely see my self doing great things and continuing to be successful. I just hope I’m alive and in good health.
What is your opinion on the current hiphop scene?
I think there are some talented artist out there. But the music scene has definitely changed. I feel like a lot of these upcoming artist focus there music on depression and pills. I don’t like or appreciate the message that they are sending to the community. Especially the youth. That’s why I hope my music can create a change and have a positive influence to those who listen. Whether that be inspiring people to hustle and make money, maintaining good health, loving one another, or just inspiring those to love the life that you live. I just want to be a good role model for the hip hop community.

Hiphop is on a up and down its guys thats lyrical that you dont see but its over saturated with what “they” put in front of us its people that deserve a big chance that will never get seen or heard because a mainstream established artist is being played or fed to us 12 of the 24 hours. So as far as the state i think its in a blank state with alot of rare gems being covered up in dirt.

Talk to us about the Squad madness give a way..
The SquadMadness was a marketing strategy that we put together to create awareness to the SQUAD brand new video by increasesing our numbers with views….social media…and downloads.
So we doing a raffle on the month of march with the energy of the march madness…we are giving a way tickets to a chicago sport team game….concert tickets to a fan favorite artist…and last but least $250 worth of clothing from a chicago brand…

B. Cloy is is a 20 year old artist from Havana, Florida. He is sort of new to music, he only started a year ago. You can’t really tell if you listen to his music. It sounds like he’s been at it for YEARS. Influenced by artists such as John Legend, his style is very nice and grown. We got the chance to talk with B about his new project “Looking For Love” and more. Read all about it below
Explain who you are for those who don’t know
My name is Brannon Cloy but I am known by my artist name B. Cloy. I am 20 years old and I am from Havana, Fl.
How did you come up with your name?
Funny story actually. So, I originally used my real name as my artist name but I found out there was already an artist under that stage name. So I decided to use my the initial from my name and combine it with my last name.
How long has music been a grind?
I have been working on music for a little over a year now. I’m relatively new to it but I love it!
When did it start?
It started around the summer of 2016. I realized I wanted to pursue music during my senior year of high school but I didn’t record my first song until January of 2017.
Who are influences to the struggle?
Some of my biggest musical inspirations are John Legend and Emeli Sandé. I love everything that they embody.
What is the motivation behind the grind?
Music. It’s the only thing I can see myself doing for the rest of my life. Nothing can ever replace it.
Talk to us about Looking For Love. How did it come about?
I came up with the title
What’s your favorite song from the project?
Crash and Burn
Why?
I put a lot into that song. It took me a while to write it because there was so much emotion behind it that I knew I had to take my time if I was going to create the song.
Do you think it’s your best work?
No. I think my best is yet to come. I’ve written a few songs in which I thought, “Man this is the one.” But I think I’m just getting started.
Define what HipHop is to you
Hip Hop is more than music. It’s culture, it’s struggle, it’s success. But mostly it’s a story and every artist is just another author who is contributing to the story.
What is in the works?
I’m currently working on releasing the music video for Crash and Burn. I’m also working on my next EP “Emotions pt. 1” which will be out in May.
What is your 5 year goals?
In 5 years, I see myself performing on tour and selling out shows. I also see myself as being one of the best artists in the music industry.
Anything else you would like to say?
It’s not always easy to follow your dreams and I know there are people right now who are doubting me, but I want those people and everyone else to know that I will be best.
