Where are you from?
Originally, I’m from Wilson, North Carolina. But at a young age I moved to Raleigh, North Carolina.
Whats it like growing up where your from?
Growing up where I’m from is bittersweet. It’s cool in the sense of we can throw a lit party & there’s some big names that in some point in time come across us & I’ve got family here. But bitter because a lot of people in the city do the same thing and are good at it. So it’s difficult to standout and gain a following. And since a lot of people are trying to stand out that can cause conflict. But aside from that it’s cool but I plan on moving to NY in the next year or two.
How did you get into music?
I’d been into music since a young age. I used to just play around with it with my cousins but when I realized I was actually good at it, I took it serious and started writing. I took up the trumpet in middle school & I think that’s what factors into the soul element of my music. And for about a year now I’ve actually been recording and releasing music.
What makes you different than other artists?
I just have a different kind of style. My beat selection, lyrics, and topics. Sure, there are other artist that have similar qualities but I’ve developed mine from every aspect of life. My mom raised me listening to a lot of gospel and my dad rocks with a lot of old school & my sisters listening to R&B. So growing up and hearing all of that you can definitely see where I got my flow.
What are you currently working on?
Currently, I am working on constantly releasing more music to build my profile. I plan on releasing another project in the next 3-5 months since I recently released my first EP, ‘Laws Of Power’ hosted by Dj Kam Bennett & I’m also trying to do more shows and start traveling.
Anything you would like to say?
Keep God first. I appreciate all my supporters. Keep rocking with me cause there is a lot more in store and it’s about to take off. #BANK$SZN

Explain who you are for those who don’t know
Who I am: My name is Chad Nelson and I’m an up and coming 16 year old rapper from New Jersey.
How did you come up with your name?
My name: Unlike most new artists in today’s age, I don’t like hiding who I am behind a stage name. I decided to keep my stage name my real name in hopes of showing people who I really am through my lyrics and unique style of rap.
Where are you from?
Where I’m from: I was born and raised in Trenton, NJ, and moved out at age 8 and I now live in Burlington County, NJ.
Whats it like growing up where your from?
Growing up in NJ: Fortunately I was raised in a better area of Trenton/Hamilton where violence was not as prevalent, and eventually when my parents and I moved out life became a bit easier, and I am forever blessed to have grown up with parents who have kept me out of harm’s way.
How did you get into music?
Getting into music: My path towards music is unlike most stories, and I’m happy because it can somewhat separate me from most artists. I started writing music as a joke in 8th grade, using remixes of famous songs to make fun of teachers, friends, political figures (in jest of course) and it caught on and people liked my natural flow and ability to write clever metaphors at a young age. When I got to high school, I never had the same desire to continue writing until early Freshman year when a kid from a rival school wrote a diss towards our school. Me being the idiot and know it all freshman rapper, I decided to write a diss back. It’s funny because only like 50 people actually heard it. It wasn’t all that good, but people seemed to dig my rapping so I held my head high for a while. Then during that same year I heard a song that inspired me to write again and it took off from there. I started telling people I was dropping a mixtape but no one took me seriously. But then once it dropped in August 2016 I opened a lot of ears and eyes. Then I topped it off with several SoundCloud singles and my major project “Written Scriptures 2.0” which dropped on iTunes and Spotify and currently has a 5 star rating out of 23 reviews. Blessed is an understatement..
What makes you different than other artists?
What makes me different: My ability to write music using clever metaphors, storytelling, clean verses and catchy hooks, I believe, make me an artist that can hopefully be recognized. I respect all those who are famous and putting in the work and time and make it big for what they represent, but I feel that most music, specifically our beloved trap artists, does too much of degrading women, drug talk, etc. I understand and appreciate the fact that our culture as a whole is changing with time, but I also feel that our society, in general, has lost what rap is really about sometimes. Not a statement of fact, but it’s just how I feel, and you can hear it in my music if you pay attention to detail.
What are you currently working on?
Current works: I just dropped my first EP “TwoThirds” this past June and I’ve been hard at work on my 2nd official album in which the name of it is to be determined. I’m hoping the next project brings every piece of music I’ve ever put out come full circle, and shows people a brutal sense about who I am, what I represent, and how I truly feel about life’s many topics. I can’t wait to complete it and share it with the support group that I currently am beyond grateful to have.

I go by the name jvibe I’m 19 I’m just a chill person I stay away from trouble or things that might bring negative vibes towards me
How did you come up with your name?
I’ve been thru a couple names but I settled with jvibe , my first name start with a j and since
I’m such a chill person and I have and like good vibes I just decided to put the J in front of the Vibe.
Where are you from?
I’m from a small city called fort pierce in Florida. It’s nothing to do here unless you’re into sports or music and work. Like any other city driven by low income areas we deal with murders from time to time drug dealers such and such and I think that’s why I focused on that or at least try to focus on that in my music to shed some light to our situations not enough recourses and dirty cops
Whats it like growing up where your from?
It was pretty rough but it was good times also . Everyone knew each other we’d gather on Saturday’s to watch football games because that’s what brought the city together. I think growing up here made me into the person I am today because it motivated me to want to do better seeing some of the friends I grew up with playing football with either in jail or dead I think that gave me a new look on life
How did you get into music?
I first started singing around the house, I was very shy to sing around anyone until my friends that I grew up with started coming over to my house and we’d freestyle stuff and I’d start singing in front of them I was in 4th grade at the time. My brother was the one that let me officially record something with him . He told me to write something so I got out a pencil and a piece of paper and started writing ” I hop out the shower and I’m looking so fresh yes going to the mall and I’m looking so clean ” for some reason that’s all I can remember. But that’s where it started. Growing up I had parents and grandparents that listened to oldies and mostly r&b greats so I took a liking to Michael Jackson I studied the way he moved the notes he sang everything’s basically. It wasn’t until my 10th grade year I began to get serious with music I wrote songs on top of songs that I later didn’t get the chance to record because I had no money or access to studio equipment. That following year I recorded my first official song it was a remix to lil yatchy one night it sounded horrible lol i later deleted but it made me realize how much power you have to create art with sounds. I put out a ep a couple months later and then followed up with another ep which I didn’t feel comfortable with and deleted them. Where I’m at in my music right now I’d say is different because I’m more into boom bap /soulful/hip hop/r&b
What makes you different than other artists?
I think what makes me different from other artists is I don’t make music for money or potential fame , I do it because it makes me happy I could have two people listening to my music and I’d generally appreciate it . Don’t get me wrong I’d love the spotlight but I just don’t really care about it I want the listeners to hear what I created and maybe be inspired to be something or do something. Another thing that sets me apart I don’t too much care about the flashy jewelry or expensive wear I think I shouldn’t have to wear all that to prove to anyone I’m doing big things or I have money
What are you currently working on?
I’m constantly working on new music currently I’m writing a new single about my life in my city and my love life , with this new song I hope whoever listens to can relate to it
Anything you would like to say?
I’d like to say that if you see an artist support them take a few minutes or hours outta your day and support your local artist or any underground artist for that matter listening to music on SoundCloud is free I’d also like to say thanks for hip hop revival for giving me an opportunity to share my story
