What makes you different than other artists?

Ima keep it a 💯, Me and my squad unique. People probably say that all the time but I’m different. People always worried about what others think, people always tryna be somebody they not, rappin stuff that never happend to them never did. But that’s not me. I’m always myself in and or out the booth. Always vibing doing my thing, I like to socialize with other artists and communicate

The Brooklyn – native ReP aka Rooftop ReP, delivers the record “Here I Am”

While we await the highly anticipated drop of #ONLYGOODVIBES.  The Brooklyn – native ReP aka Rooftop ReP, delivers the record “Here I Am”  produced by Precision Productions (produced for Chaka Khan, Machel Montano, Tessanne Chin, Carl Thomas and Toni Braxton) off the new project #ONLYGOODVIBES.  ReP’s cadence and confident presence over the energy-filled synths track makes for a catchy anthem to solidify the vibe he’s here & all is good!

Cognac & Roses – Pull Up

Orlando, FL living, but originally from Jacksonville, NC, artist Cognac & Roses dishes out his latest single “Pull Up.” The Iggy-produced effort features an airy and sonic driven textured instrumental that’s well matched with Cognac & Roses’ lyricism and synth-like voice. The theme of the record is centered around the self reflection of knowing that one is caught up with the dark side of reality and feeling like you’re drowning (“drowning in waves”). Listen for yourself below! The song is also available on Apple Music, Tidal, Google Play, and Spotify.

Explain who you are for those who don’t know

BlackOut although it may not be known yet just a 24 year
old from Baltimore, Maryland will be a household name in the next couple of months!

How did you come up with your name?

As a youngin’ I had a od anger problem and always was
snappin or blacking out, when I first started rapping I was really into freestyling just getting on different beats and running the whole track, a lot of the people around me always said I would black on the beat or black out so it kinda just stuck with me.

Where are you from?

I was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. I’m a 410 baby!

Whats it like growing up where your from?

Growing up where I’m from wasn’t easy at all but without
a father made it even harder at the that! Even though I moved out of the city at a young age I fell in love with the street life and wrong crowd at a very young age which caused my childhood to deal with a lot of road bumps and run in with the law!

How did you get into music?

Growing up I was always watching BET & MTVjams I would
even leave school early to go watch videos or act like I was a rapper in front of da mirror lol. I always loved music and when I was in middle school I started freestyling and eventually wrote my first rap

What makes you different than other artists?

I’m the only artist from my city that puts as much passion
and dedication into what I do! Music isn’t just a hobby for me or some quick way to get money it’s a lifestyle and something I see myself making a major mark in the near future! I’m going to give Baltimore a strong back bone in the music industry and show
people in my city that no matter what you go through or what troubles you get yourself into it’s never too late to make your mark or do what you love doing!

What are you currently working on?

I’m currently working on two tapes: I am preparing and
set to drop my debut mixtape on August 17th “Now Or Never” which is hosted by DJ 837 and consist of 15 songs and I promise is going to show everybody what I have in store for the years to come!  There’s also a joint project (EP) my label and gang BagBoy$ Ent
are currently working on called ‘Practice Makes Perfect’ which features two other artist and people I grew up with from the sandbox “BagBoyKevo & ShellzP” one from maryland and the other baltimore!

Anything you would like to say?

I just want everybody to remember the name BlackOut and
pay attention “Now or Never” is dropping soon and I promise it’s going to be the best thing out!

Explain who you are for those who don’t know

Boleyjack. An artist who tells stories of love, pain & triumph.( Best I could come up with) lol

How did you come up with your name?

It’s my last name.. Started to use it as my stage name when my grandfather passed a couple years back.. Used to go by Davey.

Where are you from?

Louisville, KY.

Whats it like growing up where your from?

There’s a lot of Love in the city. Also a lot of hate.. you hanging with the wrong people or get caught wrong place wrong time, bad news.. gotta watch how you move forsure.

How did you get into music?

My dad put me on stage with a mic at age 5 so I think I was predisposed.. Growing up watching my big bros rapping I started writing my own songs @ age 10, got serious about my work in highschool I’d say when I got grounded all I could do was write music.. learned to channel my energy from my life Into my craft.

What makes you different than other artists?

I think it’s from all I’ve Been through.. the more things you go through in life the more experiences you get-the more you’re able to speak on and relate to others that may have been through the same thing.. a lot of people tell me I make “Real music”.. so I think that’s what makes it different, it’s real.

What are you currently working on?

I’ve been working with some of the best producers in Louisville to bring together a homemade classic album for the city. Few visuals in the works too.

Anything you would like to say?

Don’t ever let somebody tell you what you can’t do. Ive came a long way..people that know me know I’ve been broke & down bad. They know I was homeless in college, they know I worked any odd job available to pay for school/studio. They know I didn’t have a scholarship or anybody helping me pay for school @ UK.. but they know I still graduated. Since I’ve started to find my way, I can look back now and say all the trials and tribulations were worth it cause I wouldn’t be where I’m at without them. I’m not where I want to be..yet, but to be able to look back and see where I’ve come from.. I feel blessed.

Indy Spotlight: Chaz Indigo

chaz

Explain who you are for those who don’t know
Im Chaz Indigo, a rapper based on duality . I grew up down south and up north so I have both styles fused into my music. And I also see myself as an ignorant intellectual. Some one who is ready to reason but will also get down to the gritty if necessary . And fuck the government

How did you come up with your name?
My real name is Zach ,so Chaz is basically Zach backwards

Regular hood shit, you know . Nothin too crazy but it’s definitely not a walk in the park . Niggas get stabbed and shot everyday so u gotta stay aware of your surroundings growing up

How did you get into music?

What makes you different than other artists?
My authenticity, I’ve always felt like it’s hard to compare me to other artists because I just do my own thing . I tend to go against the norm and trends because that’s how you get lost in the sauce

What are you currently working on?
Right now I have some singles lined up that I’m gna drop before my next EP . But the most important thing is my album called P.I.M.P. (Paper In My Pocket) that I’m planning to release before the year ends,I have some real bangers on there and that will be my first full studio album available for purchase.
