Explain who you are for those who don’t know.
-What’s good my name’s Zae. I’m a hip hop artist coming out of New York.
How did you come up with your name?
-I actually didn’t come up with the name myself. Technically its a nickname my friends gave to me. I wanted frto be authentic as possible with my music so I decided to go with a name I could run with on a personal level.
Where are you from?
-I’m “Upstate” New York called New Paltz about 15/20 minutes from Newburgh & about 1hr 30min from NYC.
Whats it like growing up where your from?
New Paltz is a suburban college town which in a lot of ways is your “run of the mill” suburban town. Because there’s a State University right off the thruway, for whatever reason my hometown has a crazy influx of drugs so you got a lot of that. A lot of rich kid house parties getting drunk as shit. A lot of going out enjoying the nightlife on Main Street. A lot of weed. I try to shed light thru my eyes of my towns current state and how it was growing up in as much of my music as I can.
How did you get into music?
-I started out a big hip hop head when I was little but growing up around Middle School up, me and my friends would just kick it, smoke blunts and freestyle all day as a hobby. Over time I started getting more into writing my lyrics down as a way to express some tough times I was experiencing but yeah the rest is history.
What makes you different than other artists?
-What makes me different than other artists is that I have no gimmick. Everything I make and talk about in my songs is 100% authentic. I don’t try and fabricate nothing. I’m able to give an alternate experience of hip hop culture in suburbia that hasn’t been represented.
What are you currently working on?
-Right now I’m just dropping singles/videos for the summer but I’ll be dropping an EP early this fall.

Explain who you are for those who don’t know
My name is Jewel. (With the punctuation, not to get it confused with the other Jewel) I am a singer/songwriter from Bowie, Maryland. Jewel is my real name, I used to not want to go by my real name but everyone always says how pretty my name is why not go by Jewel. So I decided, Jewel. it is!
Where are you from?
Growing up in Maryland is pretty cool, I’m from the suburbs not too far from the city so it’s the best of both worlds. When I want to lay low, I kick it in the burbs. When I want to be in the mix I go to D.C.
How did you get into music?
I’ve always had a passion and love for writing, I never really took it serious until I went to college and ended up in a studio for the first time. From then on I knew music was the path I wanted to pursue.
What makes you different than other artists?
I would like to say my laid back and chill demeanor kinda separates me from other artists and it comes out in my music. Even when it’s a lit song I’m still gonna find a way to make it chill but lit at the same time.
What are you currently working on?
At the moment I’m working on my EP entitled “The KickBack” …I’m also in the works of releasing a new single this summer along with a video. It has a dope feature from my homie Kelow LaTesha and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.
Anything you would like to say?
I just want everyone hip to wave, and if you’re down then ride it.
Today we bring you an artist by the name of Duals who recently dropped a new project called “Kidnapped”
Get to know more about the artist below and be sure to check his music
How did you come up with your name?
It represents the philosophy of dualism based from the thoughts of one of my favourite writers Albert Camus.
The name came about when I was homeless and I used it here n there until it stuck.
Where are you from?
Nowhere. I don’t rep anywhere, vagabond 4 life.
From the dust and to the dust I shall return.
Whats it like growing up where your from?
Wait, I was supposed to grow up? Jokes, I’ve moved around a lot and I have a love/hate relationship with every city
How did you get into music?
Sculpting poetry onto sound was the dream or something. I started writing songs in primary school and then recording in middle school.
It was just a matter of fact that art was something I’d be doing my whole life even if noone else on this planet existed so I continue to create.
What makes you different than other artists?
Everyone is alike and everyone is unique. I embrace mine vehemently.
What are you currently working on?
Not sure it is ready to reveal yet since I’m still promoting Kidnapped that just released.
But a project I’m very excited about is definitely already in the dream stage.

Explain who you are for those who don’t know.
My name is Bethany, but I go by Ace. I’m an up-and-coming music producer who also owns my own label.
How did you come up with your name?
I came up with the name because in a card game that is your highest card and when you think of ace you think of someone who has high morals and qualities.
Where are you from?
Charlotte, North Carolina
What’s it like growing up where you’re from?
It’s just the normal everyday life. Like most places, there are some areas better than others. I’ve moved around a lot. I grew up in a single parent home, just me and my mom. I’ve learned that Charlotte has its ups and downs and every community is different. My mom worked hard and always tried to make sure when we moved, it was somewhat safe. Not everthing is Perfect.
How did you get into music?
I’ve been playing drums since I was 4 and my Parents both have musical talents, so I guess it’s just in my genes. My mom sings and my Pops plays all instruments. I’ve always had an ear for music. My mom told me that before I could I barely talk; I was singing parts of songs before the first lyric dropped.
What makes you different than other artists?
I’m different because I have a young heart with an old soul filled with different sounds that I think can only be expressed by me. And they are great sounds that I think the world needs to hear. My range of sounds stems from some of my greatest inspirations like Tupac, who I refer to as the politician of rap and goes all the way to the mellow sounds of Bob Marley and list goes on. My music is a mixture of all these sounds and I believe that the right mix could spark another flame in this world and bring real music back to life.
What are you currently working on?
I’m currently working on finding and signing new artists with true talent. I’m working on producing new beats and promoting my label.

Explain who you are for those who don’t know
I go by the name of Mymike. An Independent artist known for being a person who’s always on his grind, staying dedicated, focused on improving and being successful in life and my music career. Growing up i always was the one in my family who did anything to make my family smile and did anything to get what i wanted by getting up to go get it myself, i was taught that.
How did you come up with your name?
My name came from my mama and my family. She said i was a fat baby and everybody use to say i was their son so she would laugh and say like “naw that’s my Mymike” but that’s how my name came about. So, it’s spelled Mymike not Mike Mike because a lot of people say it wrong and i don’t like that, so i had to explain that it’s said just how it’s spelled.
Where are you from?
Being from Chicago’s south side it’s a lot going on but one thing about me i love where i’m from no matter what’s going on good or bad. It’s people who judge Chicago because of what they hear but don’t know what’s really going on or how it is to be in chicago. It’s a beautiful city, just don’t get into nothing you don’t know about.
How did you get into music?
Growing up i always loved music, that’s the only thing that would put me to sleep when my bottle couldn’t. I grew up listening to different music like old school hip hop, rap, jazz and Rnb. My whole family love music so doing music just always been my way to express and tell how i feel and what’s going on in my life.
What makes you different than other artists?
I speak realness, nothing about me is fake i can’t speak on something i never did or never saw or experience yet in life, until i do it see it or live it. I have my own style, i’m myself and i always been like that. I do things different just to show people that it’s nothing wrong with doing you and being who you are. I dress how i dress, talk how i talk, i do me. I uplift other artist to keep going and to always stay focus on your goals and to be smart on what you do.
I believe in anything is possible because it is, you can do anything you put your mind to, as long you get up and do it, nothing comes free. I get down to business about my music because i been unheard for too long so i’m doing anything i have to do to go to the next level in my music career.
What are you currently working on?
At the moment i’m working on a few projects, but i’m always writing all day anything that comes to my head or that’s on my mind i write it down or write about it. I’m currently working on 2 mixtapes that will be dropping this year. Also, i’m working on ideas for my clothing line of polos that i will be giving updates throughout the year on and getting music videos in order. It’s a lot that i’m working on but i’m taking one day at a time.
Sir Splexxx (Sir Spl-ex), the Rawest and Most Uncut, founder of the Overrated squad otherwise known as Popularity Over Rated. I am a rapper, engineer at times and a professional chiller haha
How did you come up with your name?
It branches from the word “Splexxxii” which I started hearing when I met a couple people from the islands, like years ago. The word stuck to me so I stated using it and eventually attached it to my stage name. My Myspace name was “Mr. Splexxxii”, so I dropped the Mr, switch it to Sir and dropped the two I’s at the end. Haha…there’s more to it but yeah, that’s the basics. Sounds corny but…yeah. Kept the three X’s for shock value haha
Where are you from?
The home of the playas and pimps, H-Town, Tx baebeh
Whats it like growing up where your from?
Hot in the summers, confusing during the other seasons haha. All in all tho it’s always been a blessing living here and being around this culture. Seeing how we’ve pretty much inspired a lot of music you hear today. To come from such an influential city like that is something I’ve always been proud of.
How did you get into music?
In a sense it’s always been around me. I grew up in some what of a musically family. My Dad is a professional Gospel singer, so I’d sit in the choir as he directed every Sunday when I was little. As I got older I fell in love with Hip-Hop. I would steal my sisters Outkast CDs and play the shit out of um haha. At the age of 13 I started writing poetry and then eventually it turned into rap…the rest is history really…
What makes you different than other artists?
Every time I’m blessed to see another twenty-four I have something to rap about. And I don’t adjust my style to fit what’s hot now. Whenever you hear Sir Splexxx it’s just a better Splexxx than the last time.
What are you currently working on?
At the moment I’m gearing up to g o on tour with DoughBeezy. My lil big bro AceKidd and I are gonna tear some shit up for that. You’ll hear a lot of duets with me and him. Solo, I’m putting together an EP called “Lite Snaxxx” that’ll drop this Summer….and my new track “Gradual” is out now for your listening pleasure.
