Explain who you are for those who don’t know
“Basically I’m an Indian and Packistani kid born and rasied in various parts of New Orleans. I came up in a very unique type of way. My name comes from my father whose a real street hustler putting in work and he eventually gained notoriety from doing Jewelry for people like the Cash Money Team from the time they were starting out.”
How did you come up with your name?
My name was passed down to me by my father who by the time I starting rapping was a well known jeweler in the New Orleans area. So everywhere I would go everyone would be like “Oh that’s Sol’s son lil Sol” and it just kind of stuck from there on out and it’s served me well.
Whats it like growing up where your from?
“Honestly I grew up all over the city of New Orleans up until the 7th grade I was never in the same school for more than a year and being around different types of people has shaped my outlook and the way I view people in a positive manner.”
How did you get into music?
“I was blessed and I didn’t even realize it till a couple years ago I have been doing music my entire life thanks to my preschool principal who saw that I was way past everything we were doing in music class and had me playing drums and training my voice and he just saw this potential in me and had me doing church concerts and things of that nature. It wasn’t until one day at 16 I came home and starting writing songs and by the time I wrote my third song a few days later my first one was on the radio purely because they thought it was good and my dad was out there using his name to promote it.” “I never wanted to be famous or anything growing up I just wanted to make good music and I’ve been at this for a long time now.”
What makes you different than other artists
“Everyone is different when they make music and I think for to say that the way I do things is better would be arrogant. I would say the people I consider my peers and my influences have all managed to create something of their own and present their own messages, which is what I aim to do with my music. So I would say what makes me different is I have my own lane and my own message to get out there and that’s what I’m doing everyday.
What are you currently working on
“Currently I’m working on album that I would say could be out here in the next couple of months. While it’s still me we’ve managed to come out with more Bang than music while infusing what I do lyrically. So you can expect some bangers with lyrics to match”
