Explain who you are for those who don’t know
– I’m a Photographer and Musician, who loves to play in various creative mediums. But for the most part I just do stuff randomly and by accident, sometimes, it sounds hella weird and some people seem to like it.
How did you come up with your name?
– When I was 19 or 20 I wrote some short novels about a couple who slowly started to disconnect emotionally from each other. And that phrase stuck with me, because the girl in the story says that to him. That she’s feeling dizzy, unsure about love and everything. Plus, I love the word “Darling”, like people should really use it more to their beloved ones haha. My music sounds most of the time really unsure about love or even melodramatic I would say, so I thought it was a perfect match. And I like the idea of a “Project” that sounds more like a sentence than a real name.
Where are you from?
– I was raised in Switzerland, but for the most time I daydream about my second home, Brazil.
Whats it like growing up where your from?
– For the most part it is great to live in a secure environment like Switzerland is. But it comes with a lot of stress and pressure, especially when you try to be true to yourself and try to make a living with creative stuff. But thats everywhere in the world I guess.
How did you get into music?
– My parents played all kind of music in the household back in the days, so it automatically resonated with me. With the years I found more and more music that I didn’t really pay attention to as a child and this influenced me heavy. I just love to play around with different genres and influences. Just to put a really, lets say, mainstream melody with a strange industrial type thing together is really fun. Or sample Madonna and mix it with reversed Baile funk rhythms. This is pure bliss for me.
What makes you different than other artists?
– I think we all use the same color palettes, but the technique and the way I paint with melodies and cadence is far more experimental than my peers I think. I don’t think the people here in Switzerland are used to this kind of music but its fun to challenge others and myself and to explore raw emotions.
What are you currently working on?
– I just started some concepts for my next album. Just throwing random ideas and see which ones stay in my mind for a long time. And in the meantime I’m really stoked about some collaborations with other artists, which is new for me, because my music is so bedroom based. But I’m really looking forward to these projects, I’m receiving a lot of love and many suggestions for collabos. Oh, and more musicvideos of course.
Anything you would like to say?
-I’m just thankful for every opportunity. I love the fact that this art thing, after all these years it slowly begins to morph into something special. It’s not paying the rent and shit, but I get payed with a lot of love and recognition, and that’s all I’m hoping for.
