Today we bring you a new artist from Jacksonville, Florida. His name is Shiesty Slim. Although he has shiest in his name, he’s actually a pretty talented/humble artist. How did you get your start in music?
I use to write poems as a teenager which then turned to verses and full songs.
How long have you been making it?
Over a decade
Who are your influences?
Jadakiss, Dmx, Nas, Jay-Z, Outkast,To, old school hip hop
What motivates you?
The love of music honestly. I don’t need to wake up a millionaire to keep the drive. I do it to tell someone else something that may help or just for me to express myself.
What are you currently working on?
An EP of about 5 to 6 tracks
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
More known as an artist on social media and also on the airwaves, just by sounds and voice recognition alone
What is your opinion on the current hiphop scene?
Each generation has their own swag but im more catered to old school RAP that told a story or had more structure/meaning
