Explain who you are for those who may not know.

My name is Emanuel Ricci. I ’m a designer from Brussels, Belgium. I have a brand called MUSO KUSO that I launched 2 years ago.

What is it that you do?

MUSO KUSO produces its own garment from scratches. We pick our own fabric, we dye it ourself and we cut and sew our products.

How did you get started in clothing?

I ’ve launched MUSO KUSO 2 years ago.

I always been interested in clothes and fashion.

Until I decided to launch my first brand in 2014. It didn’t turn out well because of the brands name.I got legally attacked by a bigger brand.

While working on MUSO I worked for a couple of known brands.

Where do you find your inspiration?

Im a huge fan of music it takes a big part of my inspirational process. My brands concept is: «La Musica e la Moda» which means in Italian Music and Fashion.I’ve had that concept for years. already promoting my first brand through artists.

Get to know: CTrip

Explain who you are for those who don’t know

I go by CTrip, and I am a hip-hop & R&B Artist from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

How did you get your start in music?

I’ve always had a musical ear, Im one of those people that could be listening to like Cage the Elephant then start playing some Future. I grew up listening to more alternative shit & catching up with rap music. For me, It wasnt always making music though. I would write a lot of poetry, I played the saxophone when I was like 12 and did that for a few years. Besides that, I always knew I could sing a little and like a lot of people you just freestyle with your friends from time to time. Some of us would just be blowing it down and spittin to kill time. People around me would just tell me i need to start making songs. I would write my little raps here and there. Eventually, I just kinda knew that I could put my thoughts on wax in a dope way. Then it started. I dropped my first song almost 2 years ago. At first, I was recording myself and kinda learning along the way. Then I starting going to some studios and really started being able to lock in. Since then Ive just been working on perfecting my sound and finding inspiration from various things in my life.

Who are your influences?

Some of my influences are Kid Cudi, Future, The Weeknd, Lucki, & Mac Miller. I just really like when artists speak real life shit, not just the fake flashy shit. I really pay attention to lyrics, & what they convey. Not everything in real life is glamorous

What motivates you?

I’m motivated every day by progression. I wanna be able to say I’m a better person than I was the day before, a better artist, etc. I’m also motivated by just envisioning the life I want to live. I know for me to get where I wanna go, I can’t lack or ever get comfortable. I don’t want to work a “Job”, hating what I do everyday just to live for when I’m not at work. It’s not even really a get rich thing with me, I just want to spend my time doing what I want to do and what I enjoy.

What are you working on?

I just dropped a short 4-song EP called ‘When The Sun Goes Down’ earlier this month. You can find that on ALL streaming platforms. The tape was only 11min and I think people rocking with it, so now I’m about to start working on some visuals. I’m excited for that because the EP was more melody driven and vibey, so I think we’ll be able to make some really dope shit.

Whats next for you in the next 5 years?

I think that if I continue what I started and keep moving how I am, in 5 years I’ll be where I wanna be. I don’t have any Management or budgets behind me or anything, I’m just doing me. I just wanna connect with people and make music that people can feel wherever. Don’t get me wrong, I’m tryna count up, but it’s not all about the bread for me. Some of my favorite artists are lowkey legends, underrated and got money, but will never be Drake status..politics man.

Whats your opinion on the current state of HipHop?

It’s dope man, there’s a lot going on but its good. I like how anyone has a space to say whatever they want to say if they can grab a audience. That’s what gives me motivation, anything can happen for an artist, especially if there’s real talent. I just feel like sometimes real talent gets drowned out by all the bullshit

Anything else you would like to say?

Thanks to whoever’s vibin’ w me! If you haven’t Go check out ‘When The Sun Goes Down’ on Apple Music & Spotify!!

A post shared by MCXI | Music (@mcximusic) on

Where you from?

Metro-Detroit, Michigan

What was it like growing up there?

There is a misconception of the metro-Detroit area, however I still view it as an opportunistic area to live, and am extremely grateful for growing up in that environment.

Where do you find your motivation?

Growing up in a single parent home, things weren’t as easy for me in comparison to the people I was surrounded by. Because those circumstances were different, I used that to fuel me and be the leading motivational factor in pursuing a music career.

Who are your influences?

At a very early age I was introduced to the works of the late and greats like the Notorious BIG and Tupac Shakur. Although, being born in the 90’s I grew up on a lot of the early music that came in the 2000’s. ex. (Lil Wayne, Eminem, 50 Cent)

What are you working on?

Currently, I am working on building a brand by expanding my fan base as much as possible.

What’s next for you?

I am constantly working on new music and staying in the studio as much as possible. I will be releasing more music soon and will be focusing on putting together and EP.

Anything else you would like to say?

I am always looking out for local artists within my genre to open up for. I also want to thank everyone who is supportive of me and my music.

I had to fight for justice and my family did as well and my fans, after all these court dates (all cases  dropped) Being gone for 8-10 months for no reason with No Bond.. is a long period when you have a life to attend to and other artist in the industry. Do you feel like 2019 has been a success?

I’ve been locked up damn near the whole 2019 so it was a learning appearance and a eye opener for life and success!

What would you change if you could go back?

Picking the people I’m around & and being closer to God!

You said you got arrested and accused of a crime you didn’t commit. What would you like to say to those who judge you over that when they don’t know the real story?

Who are you to judge the live I live? I know I’m not perfect and I don’t live to be. Before you start pointing fingers, make sure your hands are clean.

What has that situation taught you?

I’m the same wavy designer but life is different now there’s a lot of more opportunities. It has built a better person!
