FDA approves pill with digital tracking device you swallow

(CNN)A psychiatric medication system in the form of a pill with a built-in digital tracking device gained approval from the US Food and Drug Administration on Monday.

Abilify MyCite, a form of aripiprazole and a first-of-its-kind product, has an embedded ingestible sensor that records when the medication is taken. Made by Japan-based Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., the medication system is intended to treat schizophrenia, bipolar I disorder and depression in adults. Abilify without sensor technology was first approved to treat schizophrenia in 2002.
Schizophrenia, a psychotic disorder, includes symptoms of delusions and hallucinations. Bipolar patients may experience alternating episodes of mania and depression, a persistent sadness.

Though the idea behind Abilify MyCite is to improve a patient’s compliance with their medication regimen, the FDA noted that this has not been proved.
Teens and young adults who are taking antidepressants are at increased risk of suicidal behavior and thoughts when taking the medication, cautions a boxed warning; they should be monitored closely. Safety and effectiveness has not been established in children. Abilify MyCite is also not approved to treat older patients with dementia-related psychosis.

Well Preserved 50,000 Year Old Cave Lion Cub Is Discovered In Siberia And Scientists Are Hoping To Clone It!

Russian scientists revealed a 20,000 to 50,000-year-old cave lion cub Thursday capable of being cloned and brought back from the depths of extinction. The cave cub was found on the bank of the Tirekhtykh River by a local resident, according to The Siberian Times. Researchers believe the cub died when it was around 2 months old.

One of the researchers told the Siberian paper its “perfect” condition makes it a potential candidate for cloning.

Video shows researchers taking the stiff furball out of a sinister-looking briefcase and presenting it to the press. There’s something both adorable and macabre when seeing the environmentally preserved cub in a state of eternal slumber. Russia should probably leave this little guy or girl alone and let its subspecies rest.

“Transracial” Florida Man Born White Says He Identifies As Filipino!

TAMPA, Fla. — Ja Du, born a white male named Adam, now considers himself a Filipino.

He even drives what he calls a Tuk Tuk, an Asian-derived vehicle used for public transit in the Philippines.

Ja Du is part of a small but growing number of people who call themselves transracial. The term once referred only to someone (or a couple) of a one race adopting a child of another, but now it’s becoming associated with someone born of one race who identifies with another.

Ja Du says he grew up enjoying Filipino food, events and the overall culture.

“Whenever I’m around the music, around the food, I feel like I’m in my own skin,” he said.

“I’d watch the History Channel, sometimes for hours … nothing else intrigued me more but things about Filipino culture.”

the term transracial started to become more widely known after the much-publicized story of Rachel Dolezal. Dolezal, born white, identified as black and portrayed herself as such. She was even the president of the Spokane, Wash., chapter of the NAACP.

A 26-year-old man was found dead at the home of a well-known Democratic party donor late last month of a drug overdose.

The incident occurred on July 27 around 7.22pm at the West Hollywood home of Ed Buck, a high-profile political activist and wealthy contributor to the California and Los Angeles County Democratic Party.

The Los Angeles County Coroner declared Gemmel Moore’s death an ‘accident,’ due to a ‘methamphetamine’ overdose, the WeHo Times publication reported.

But Moore’s family believes that foul play was involved in the hours between Gemmel’s arrival at Buck’s home and his fatal overdose.

During a phone interview with the WeHo Times last week, Gemmel Moore’s mother, LaTisha Nixon, said that her son had been involved with sex-work for the past few years.

Meek Mill Asked to Respond Under Oath About Fan’s Death at His Concert

meek

Meek Mill might need to answer some questions over a wrongful death lawsuit against him under oath while he’s behind bars … but there seems to be an easy fix.

According to court docs obtained by TMZ, the family of a man who was shot and killed outside of Meek’s concert last year is asking a judge to give them the courtroom W if Meek doesn’t submit answers to their questions under oath in the next 30 days.

As we reported … the family, along with another man who was injured at the concert, are suing Meek for allegedly inciting the deadly violence with his murderous lyrics.

Meek’s denied the allegations in court docs, but the family wants him to do one simple thing if the case is to continue … sign his written answers to their questions — aka under oath.

The only potential problem for Meek … will he hear about this in time?

Lil Yachty Announces Collaboration Album With Lil Pump

yachty

Two of Hip Hop’s most polarizing artists are teaming up for a project. On Sunday (November 12), Lil Yachty announced a collaboration with Lil Pump due out in 2018.

Lil Boat unveiled the news with a tweet of a text conversation between himself and the “Gucci Gucci” artist. The two are planning to tour together after releasing the collaborative project.

“First Of The Year, We Promise,” Yachty tweeted.

Both men are coming off the releases of their respective debut albums. Yachty dropped his first LP, Teenage Emotions, in May. The album did not receive a warm reception as Yachty grabbed more attention in subsequent months for feuding with Joe Budden. The release did crack the Top 5 of the Billboard 200 though.

Lil Pump released his self-titled debut in October, peaking at #3 on the Billboard 200 later that month. His single “Gucci Gucci” has also experienced its fair share of chart success, topping out at #7 on the Hot 100.

NFL’s Jonathan Casillas Involved in Casino Brawl Caught on Video

NY Giants linebacker Jonathan Casillas should’ve been a running back — because it took 5 SECURITY OFFICERS to bring him down during a violent casino clash back in 2012.

We’ve been making calls for days trying to gather all the info about this crazy video — and though the details are scarce, here’s what we know …

— It happened at 6 AM on May 12, 2012 at the Harrah’s Casino in Atlantic City

— Before the video begins, Casillas was pissed … and walked outside to cool off. You see him throw a potted plant across the valet area.

— Casillas went back inside and was confronted by several security officers. Things get testy, Casillas tucks his chain, a security officer shoves Casillas and Casillas shoves back

— Things went nuclear from there. 5 guys tried to take Casillas down. They struggled, but eventually got him to the ground. He was handcuffed and detained.

— Two Atlantic City PD officers were involved.

We’ve reached out to the Atlantic City PD to find out if criminal charges were filed. One source connected to the incident says a civil suit was filed … but unclear who filed it or if it’s still active.

Multiple attempts to reach Casillas and his reps were unsuccessful.
